About The Position

The Bank of Elk River is seeking an experienced Financial Advisor to support the expanding needs of its customers in the Andover and northwest metro area. This role offers the opportunity to build and grow a book of business through Realize Financial Advisors, the bank's in-house investment office. It is a rare opportunity to help expand Realize Financial Advisors into the northwest metro while building your own book of business. This is a highly entrepreneurial role for someone who thrives on developing relationships, growing a client base, and delivering thoughtful financial guidance. The financial advisor is responsible for providing financial advice, guidance and exceptional customer service to current and potential customers through comprehensive planning and investment strategies. The candidate must have a strong understanding of the financial markets and alternative investments products including mutual funds, retirement plans, annuities, life insurance and other investments. The role of The Bank of Elk River’s Financial Advisor is highly entrepreneurial and involves extensive client management and development, new client prospecting and financial consultancy.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates a successful track record in researching investment opportunities to identify the right strategies to meet client wealth goals.
  • Very strong technical financial planning expertise balanced by the ability to translate into terms that are clear to clients with varying degrees of investment knowledge.
  • Passionate about client service; relationship driven, entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in financial planning, investment advising, or a related field is preferred.
  • Life Insurance license
  • Series 7 and Series 66 licenses
  • Ideally at least one professional designation

Responsibilities

  • Nurtures and maintains strong relationships with clients.
  • Creates learning opportunities for staff through training and seminars.
  • Provides regular reporting, updates and information to clients and senior management.
  • Attend investment-related conventions, meetings and seminars.
  • Works with bank staff to encourage referrals.
  • Generates new clients through a range of business building programs including conducting seminars, using personal contacts and leveraging public events.
  • Assesses financial and wealth management needs of clients and then provides individuals with tailored solutions.
  • Meets with clients on a regular basis to review portfolio performance and to uncover unmet personal and business financial needs.
