About The Position

This role is designed for individuals who will learn the necessary skills to qualify for an Advisor position within TD's advisor job family within a specified timeframe. Upon completion of the Trainee program, you will transition into an Advisor role, responsible for attracting and retaining clients by addressing their wealth management advisory needs. This involves meeting with prospects and clients to analyze their financial information, understand their goals, and educate them on investment and insurance strategies and products. The role requires broad knowledge of financial analysis, markets, and wealth management, along with strong interpersonal skills to build client trust and maintain a lasting advisory relationship. As an Advisor, you will act as a fiduciary, prioritizing client interests in providing financial advice, retirement planning, and conducting annual reviews. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships through ongoing consultation, advice, planning, and account servicing. Relationship building and influencing skills are crucial for developing a client base and meeting goals. You will also educate Retail Store staff on identifying referral prospects and identify enterprise opportunities by engaging key partners across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience or college degree
  • SIE required
  • Ability to obtain Life & Health, Series 7 and Series 66 (or equivalent) within Licensing & Registration Schedule
  • Self-directed, with strong ability to plan own activities to achieve sales and referral goals
  • General understanding of wealth products and services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to travel to FA training class upon obtaining all required licenses and registration
  • Ability to commute to assigned office for in-person training & studying five days a week

  • Satisfactory results on a criminal background check, credit report check, civil litigation search, and regulatory agency or self-regulatory organization enforcement action search, and statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority or self-regulatory organization, are required by federal law for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain the requisite set of skills to qualify for an Advisor role within a specified time frame.
  • Actively call and meet with TD Bank customers and prospects to deepen relationships, assist with customer service issues, and identify financial needs.
  • Utilize a financial needs assessment tool to identify annuity and insurance sales opportunities and referral opportunities to TD Wealth businesses and affiliates.
  • Meet insurance agency requirements, policies, and procedures to effectuate annuity and insurance sales, including for qualified accounts in accordance with TD Wealth's policies and procedures.
  • Recommend and provide direct sales and fulfillment of insurance and annuity solutions where suitable.
  • Provide TD Bank employees information and education on wealth products & service offerings, including training on annuities and insurance products.
  • Provide sales training on annuity and insurance offerings for TD Bank licensed insurance agents.
  • Maintain on-going relationships with insurance and annuity clients and refer to TD Wealth businesses and affiliates based on customer wants and needs.
  • Responsible for all aspects of insurance and annuity business in their region, including sales and renewal process, application intake, delivery, and other servicing needs.
  • Maintain close relationships with Insurance Companies to achieve excellent customer service.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of products and services offered within TD Wealth businesses and affiliates to make appropriate referrals for each customer.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of annuity and insurance products, local market, competitive offers, and economic and regulatory trends.
  • Responsible for accurate and complete reporting as required by management.
  • Meet regularly with Retail Bank employees to educate on annuity and insurance products and offerings from TD Wealth businesses and affiliates.
