About The Position

Blue Cross of Idaho is looking for a Financial Accounting Analyst III. This position offers hands on experience in Investment accounting and reporting, tax research and preparation, compiling and reviewing financial statements, and analyzing other complex financial information as requested. The ideal candidate is solutions-oriented, demonstrates a willingness to learn, works independently with limited supervision, and enjoys collaborating with other team members. This role reports to the Manager, Accounting/Finance. The position is located in Meridian, Idaho. Hybrid work schedule is supported. #LI-Hybrid

Requirements

• Experience: 5 years of public accounting experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Licenses/Certifications: CPA
• Skill in reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling financial data
• The ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic setting
• Problem-solving skills with the capacity to suggest practical solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including executive-level presentations
• Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail
• A collaborative mindset and an eagerness to build relationships across finance, treasury, and actuarial teams

Responsibilities

• Support in the preparation of financial statements, insurance industry financial reports, tax filings and various other schedules and reports
• Research and interpret accounting guidance on complex accounting and investment issues
• Perform a variety of accounting tasks including interpreting data for input into accounting software
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and analyze variances
• Assist in the preparation of schedules for internal and external audits
• Perform other duties as requested
