About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing the organization's insurance portfolio, evaluating customer creditworthiness, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting the organization's financial budgeting and audit activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Agris experience or similar is preferred.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance and financial regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and records.
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/ year end-close processes.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury management activities.
  • Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory filings as required.
  • Manage all property, casualty, and liability insurance programs, including policy renewals, claims coordination, coverage reviews, and communication with insurance brokers and carriers.
  • Evaluate and analyze customer creditworthiness through financial statement review, credit reports, payment history, and other relevant financial data before approving or recommending credit limits and terms.
  • Monitor customer credit exposure and recommend adjustments to credit limits as needed to mitigate financial risk.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial initiatives and projects.
