Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel).

  • associate's degree in accounting preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting and/ or related experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accounting activities related to the Bank's insurance division, including the accurate recording of commission income, reconciliation and posting of commission statements and invoices, and maintenance of related general ledger accounts.
  • Administers and monitors the Bank's collateral management system to ensure public funds and other pledged deposit accounts remain appropriately collateralized in accordance with applicable state laws, regulatory requirements, and Bank policies.
  • Responsible for reconciling and balancing the Bank's correspondent bank accounts, researching and resolving outstanding reconciling items in a timely manner, and coordinating with internal departments and correspondent institutions to minimize risk and prevent financial loss to the organization.
  • Responsible for the accounting, recordkeeping, and reporting of the Bank's fixed assets, including asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and maintenance of the fixed asset subledger.
  • Responsible for reconciling various internal bank accounts and general ledger accounts ensuring all outstanding issues are resolved and reviewing other accounts on a period basis for accuracy.
  • Assisting with account research, audits, and budget preparatory work as needed.
