Financial Accountant

About The Position

The Financial Accountant will work closely with the DIRTT Finance team and provide the opportunity to work on a wide range of accounting and finance tasks, gaining exposure to various aspects of the field.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Someone working towards CPA/newly accredited CPA.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills while maintaining critical attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger.
  • Post and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Analyze and report on financial performance, variances, and trends.
  • Assist in processing invoices, tracking payments, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Participate in special projects and financial research as required.
