About The Position
UW Medical Center Montlake’s Roosevelt Clinic Center for Reproductive Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Financial Access Specialist 2. This is a 100% FTE, 100% ONSITE position, working Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm within the UW Medicine Patient Financial Access Services Department - Financial Access Clearance Team (FACT).
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED certificate
- Two years of experience in a medical office setting
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Responsibilities
- Review scheduled appointments through patient work queue
- Obtain insurance authorizations through assigned payer administrators
- Verifying/document patients' eligibility and benefits in Epic auth/cert
- Refer uninsured patients for Medicaid/Charity eligibility screening
- Prepare estimates of fees upon request from Patient Care Consultants
- Interpret hospital's policies, procedures and services to patients, patient representatives, inter/intra-hospital departments and community facilities
- Verify patient benefits and document information
