About The Position

Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) is seeking a Finance VISTA member to enhance its financial management capabilities. This role involves designing and implementing financial capacity-building resources for department leaders and finance staff. The goal is to ensure consistent and independent management of budgets, funding, and compliance. The VISTA member will focus on creating reusable infrastructure, including financial literacy and coding toolkits, centralized trackers for contract revenue and restricted funding, standardized budget templates, finance forms, process documentation, a grant-and-contract financial calendar, a document-retention system, and a year-round audit-readiness framework.

Requirements

• Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Comfort working independently and structuring ambiguous projects into defined steps.
• Clear written communication, particularly translating complex processes into plain language.
• Proficiency with cloud-based collaboration tools.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or legal permanent resident.
• Must be 18 years or older (no upper age limit).

Responsibilities

• Design and build a suite of financial capacity-building resources.
• Develop standardized collection procedures, reminder templates, and an aging-report dashboard for Accounts Receivable & Process Documentation.
• Create an organized, easy-to-follow Finance Policies and Procedures Library with process guides, checklists, and templates for IYT's finance operations.
• Establish a year-round Audit-Readiness System with organized documentation, request checklists, and status tracking.
• Redesign a consistent set of finance forms and develop training materials and guides for staff.
• Implement centralized trackers and calendars for restricted funding, contract deadlines, and vendor documentation for Grant, Contract, and Vendor Tracking Systems.
