Work Shift Day (United States of America) Job Summary: The Finance Intern is an active member of the Wellstar Corporate Finance team. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside our Accounting, Finance, Financial Planning, and Treasury team. We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly motivated Finance Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate finance, financial reporting, and strategic analysis within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years college student, minimum 2 years of college courses completed
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and basic modeling).
  • Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
  • High level of accuracy in data entry and financial documentation.
  • Ability to manage assignments that are of diverse scope and complexity and require initiative and judgement
  • Effective communication skills; excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Contribute ideas, creative thinking and suggestion with team members

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP software (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or BI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Help analyze financial data and trends to provide insights into departmental performance and budget variances.
  • Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoice verification and reconciliation.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting updates.
  • Help organize documentation for internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct market research or industry benchmarking to support strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and improve data accuracy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
