About The Position

GoMining is hiring a Project Manager for its Finance department to lead internal projects that help the finance function scale as the business grows. The role focuses on process optimisation, reporting automation, integrations with new providers and systems, and coordination between Finance and other departments. The successful candidate will investigate complex workflows, identify problems, propose practical solutions, and drive changes through to measurable results. Many processes will need to be created from scratch.

The role combines project management, business operations thinking, and a solid understanding of finance. Candidates with a Finance Operations background are also encouraged to apply. Success in the first three months includes understanding finance end to end, establishing clear ownership and plans for key projects, and delivering initial process improvements or automations that save the team time.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in project management, ideally in Finance or Operations.
• Solid understanding of finance and accounting processes.
• Hands-on experience with process automation, process optimisation, and system integrations.
• Experience working across departments and aligning stakeholders who are not direct reports.
• Track record of independently managing projects from idea to result and explaining their impact.
• Strong ownership and proactivity, with responsibility for outcomes and the ability to work without waiting for instructions.
• Confident communication with senior leaders.
• Attention to detail and a systematic approach, balanced with pragmatism and avoidance of unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Comfort with a fast pace, a large workload, uncertainty, and shifting priorities.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Business Operations or Finance Operations roles.
• Experience in crypto, fintech, payments, or another fast-growing digital business.
• Experience integrating payment or financial service providers.
• Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment where processes were built from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal finance projects from initial idea through delivery, including scoping, planning, stakeholder coordination, timelines, and outcomes.
• Drive integration of new providers and systems into finance workflows in collaboration with product, engineering, payments, and accounting teams.
• Manage timelines and dependencies across departments to deliver projects by committed dates.
• Communicate project status, risks, and results to department heads and senior leadership.
• Map finance and accounting processes, identify bottlenecks and manual work, and prioritise improvements.
• Automate financial reporting and reduce the time and effort required to produce reliable numbers.
• Build lean, practical finance processes from scratch where needed.
• Standardise how Finance works with other teams, including requests, handoffs, approvals, and ownership.
• Proactively identify process and data issues, investigate root causes, and develop solutions.
• Clarify the underlying business need behind stakeholder requests.
• Take responsibility for project outcomes rather than simply passing tasks between colleagues.
