About The Position

The Finance Partner, Medical serves as the primary point for finance partnering activities related to strategy and decision making for the US Medical organization. This person will partner extensively with Medical leadership, their teams and matrixed partners to ensure financial targets are met and business ambition is adequately supported by Finance. Shapes financial direction with a clear view of business drivers, performance levers and strategic trade-offs. Owns meaningful KPIs, frames risks and opportunities early, and turns analysis into actions that improve performance. Leads planning and forecast cycles for Medical with rigor, pace and accountability. Owns the quality of analysis and modeling, drives alignment across partners, and ensures outputs are accurate, decision-ready and supported by strong financial controls, governance and auditable records. Uses insight to direct resources to the highest-value opportunities. Owns scenario analysis, challenges assumptions with confidence, and helps leaders make disciplined investment decisions grounded in data, strategy and impact. Builds trusted partnerships across a matrixed organization. Communicates with clarity and credibility at every level. Owns the narrative, tailors the message to the audience, and influences decisions through strong follow-through and sound judgment. Continuously strengthens how work gets done through simplification, standardization and smart use of tools. Owns process improvement, adapts quickly to change, and brings curiosity, learning agility and digital fluency to raise team performance over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of finance business partnering experience with proven ability in partnering, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and scenario planning.
  • Presentation skills with experience translating complex data into clear recommendations.
  • Experience of working in a business advisory environment – analyzing complex data and clearly presenting insights and complex financial information in a simple and compelling way to non-finance audiences.
  • Influencing and engagement skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and challenge based on expertise and personal credibility.
  • Comfortable working in a matrix environment and engaging stakeholders at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS or equivalent) or professional finance qualification (CPA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical research finance
  • Digital fluency and experience in SAP, planning tools, business intelligence platforms
  • Experience working in business / functional unit / commercial P&L environment
  • Effective knowledge of all accounting standards, including IFRS, US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by creation of a network of key partners within Finance and the business and the ability to bridge communications gap between finance and non-finance
