Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Our Adult Services Program includes five licensed community residences/group homes and two adult learning centers. Matheny's Arts Access program empowers individuals with disabilities to create art without boundaries. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible healthcare accounting, finance, or financial operations experience.
  • 5-10 years of prior supervisory or management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration highly desirable.
  • Nonprofit and education industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise finance department personnel
  • Conduct coaching and performance management
  • Coordinate workload balancing
  • Develop cross-training plans
  • Manage departmental priorities
  • Oversee month-end close execution
  • Monitor reconciliations and transaction processing
  • Review AP, payroll, billing, and cash management activities
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities
  • Standardize procedures
  • Develop desk manuals
  • Improve workflow efficiency
  • Reduce key-person dependencies
  • Ensure backup coverage for critical functions
  • Coordinate succession planning
  • Maintain departmental cross-training matrix
  • Coordinate collection of operational data needed for regulatory filings
  • Support Director of Accounting & Compliance with reporting requests
