About The Position

The Finance Operations Director is responsible for designing and operating the financial management system that drives execution across Tiberius Aerospace. This role partners directly with Engineering, Programs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Executive Leadership to build the KPIs, reporting systems, financial processes, and operational cadence required to scale a world-class defense manufacturer. Rather than simply reporting financial results, this leader builds the operational infrastructure that predicts performance, identifies risk before it materializes, protects margins, and drives accountability across every major function. The ideal candidate combines FP&A, manufacturing finance, program finance, systems integration, and operational excellence with a passion for continuous improvement and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, Operations, or a related field
  • 10+ years leading operational finance within aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing cost accounting and standard costing
  • Experience supporting complex engineering development programs
  • Experience building enterprise KPI frameworks
  • Strong background in ERP, MRP, and manufacturing systems
  • Experience with program finance for fixed-price and cost-plus government contracts
  • Expertise in financial process design and business process improvement
  • Experience integrating financial, operational, and manufacturing data
  • Strong analytical capabilities with demonstrated experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience supporting executive decision-making with operational metrics rather than purely financial reporting

Responsibilities

  • Own the financial operating rhythm of the business, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational reviews
  • Develop integrated financial and operational KPIs across Engineering, Programs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations
  • Build executive dashboards that provide leading indicators, not simply historical financial reporting
  • Design financial visibility into every major program from proposal through production
  • Establish program-level P&Ls for every major defense program
  • Track actual vs. budget across engineering, testing, procurement, manufacturing, and sustainment
  • Monitor earned value, burn rates, milestone achievement, and program profitability
  • Identify cost overruns early and develop corrective action plans
  • Develop KPI frameworks around: Manufacturing throughput, Labor utilization, Capacity planning, Inventory turns, Material shortages, Yield, Scrap, Rework, Overtime, Supplier performance, Production schedule adherence
  • Build margin reporting by product, production line, and manufacturing location
  • Drive gross margin improvement through operational analysis
  • Design scalable finance and operational processes that support rapid company growth
  • Integrate ERP, MRP, PLM, MES, and financial systems into a single management reporting framework
  • Develop automated dashboards pulling data across Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance
  • Eliminate manual reporting through automation and process standardization
  • Own data governance and KPI definitions across the enterprise
  • Lead variance analysis across programs, departments, and manufacturing operations
  • Perform root cause analysis on operational and financial deviations
  • Develop early warning indicators for schedule, cost, and margin risk
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and cost reduction
  • Lead cross-functional performance improvement initiatives
  • Lead annual operating plans and long-range financial planning
  • Develop resource capacity models for engineering, manufacturing, and testing
  • Support capital investment decisions for facilities, equipment, and production expansion
  • Build scenario models around production scaling and defense contract growth
