Finance, Master Data Management

Anduril•Costa Mesa, CA

About The Position

Anduril's Corporate Technology team builds CorpOS, a system of integrated applications, workflows, dashboards, and metrics that supports operational decision-making. This role owns the finance master data that underpins that digital twin, including the chart of accounts, legal entities, cost centers, vendors, customers, and item and work-order masters. The role partners across the company to understand business operations and implement policies and tools that keep master data trustworthy at scale. The position combines finance and engineering work: designing master data architecture and governance, building applications and automation to support compliance, and improving how data flows from transactional systems into warehouse and reporting layers. It works with Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations, Controllership, FP&A, ERP teams, and analytics platform teams to improve data quality and support a faster, more defensible month-end close. U.S. Persons status is required because the position needs access to export-controlled data.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years in a master data management-focused role, such as business systems, program management, finance systems, compliance, or data governance, with proven data architecture experience and a focus on master data.
  • Exposure to finance and accounting fundamentals, including general ledger and chart of accounts structure, cost centers, allocations, and the effect of incorrect master data on monthly close.
  • Hands-on technical experience; the posting notes Technical Analyst or Consultant backgrounds with a strong engineering background, or Data/Analytics Engineer backgrounds, as a plus.
  • Motivation by Anduril's mission and an ability to connect work to business impact.
  • Self-starter who prefers building tools and prototypes that make policy easier to follow rather than writing policy alone.
  • Familiarity with data security and compliance requirements such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • U.S. Persons status, because the position needs access to export-controlled data.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL and/or Python or other programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with an enterprise ERP, such as Oracle Fusion Cloud (Financials, SCM, Cost Management), NetSuite, or SAP modules, and the master data objects within it.
  • Experience with a dedicated MDM or data governance platform, or having established one from scratch.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and analytics tools such as warehouses, Foundry, dbt, Looker, or Tableau, and their integration with transactional finance systems.
  • Exposure to manufacturing data, including item and BOM masters, work-order costing, standard versus actual cost, inventory valuation, and how master data errors lead to cost errors.
  • Experience establishing data standards for a rapidly scaling company adding entities, sites, or geographies.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture of finance master data, including chart of accounts and GL segments, legal entities, cost centers, suppliers, customers, and item/part and work-order masters.
  • Define and enforce master data policies covering domain ownership, record creation and changes, validation, review, and audit.
  • Build applications and automation for request and approval workflows, duplicate detection, entry validation, and golden-record reconciliation across ERP and the warehouse.
  • Establish data stewardship practices with data owners across Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, and Operations.
  • Lead initiatives that measurably improve data quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Partner with Controllership and FP&A to speed up month-end close and improve the defensibility of financial results by addressing master data issues behind manual reconciliation, mapping spreadsheets, and restated allocations.
  • Work with ERP and analytics platform teams to ensure master data flows cleanly from transactional systems into warehouse and reporting layers.
  • Identify problems that can be solved through better master data and proactively work with the organization to address them.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to Anduril leadership on managing data effectively.
