About The Position

This opening is with Howmet Aerospace – a world leader in investment casting of superalloys, aluminum, and titanium primarily for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine markets. Howmet Aerospace is transforming the next phase of more fuel-efficient, quieter aerospace engines and sustainable ground transportation. The Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist manages master data, work instruction documentation, customer specifications, BOMs, RMAs, customer returns, and record-retention activities. The position ensures accuracy, revision control, timely processing, and proper management of data and documentation, while supporting internal audits, periodic reporting, and cross-functional business processes. This role works closely with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and other departments to ensure compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and established procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree is preferred.
  • One year of relative work experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and organized data and documentation.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Teamcenter software to manage work instruction documentation, including creating product containers for all work instructions, creating containers for specific operations, processing instructions through required approval workflows, publishing approved instructions to WIE software for official use, and archiving obsolete or outdated documentation.
  • Process customer specifications, Bill of Materials, blueprints, and related technical documentation through established review, approval, publishing, and retention processes.
  • Create, process, and maintain Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and control the customer return process using Howmet systems and ETQ software.
  • Manage customer returns from receipt through final disposition, including receiving returned products, removing and identifying products from packaging, entering required information into ETQ, coordinating with Quality Engineers regarding product disposition and next steps, tracking return status, and providing monthly status reports to management.
  • Maintain accurate master data and documentation records within applicable company systems, ensuring information is complete, accurate, current, and processed according to established procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute periodic reports to management and appropriate departments, including status, open/close RMAs, outstanding actions and other metrics.
  • Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and other departments to support documentation, master data, RMA, customer return, audit, and record-retention activities.
  • Manage the organization, storage, retrieval, and retention of physical and electronic customer specifications, work instructions, quality records, and other controlled documentation.
  • Manage the retention and handling of X-ray film and other designated records, including preparation for shipment, tracking, retrieval, and return to the facility when required.
  • Conduct internal audits throughout various departments and facility areas to verify compliance with established procedures, documentation requirements, quality standards, and applicable site policies.
  • Comply with all site-required policies and procedures, including but not limited to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Quality, and Code of Conduct requirements.
  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned by management, consistent with the role and needs of the organization.
