About The Position

The North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Finance team is seeking a Finance Manager to lead network-wide initiatives aimed at driving cost efficiency and increasing growth. This role offers significant career development opportunities within Amazon, including senior positions in different business areas, project management, and leadership roles at local, regional, and global levels. The position involves close collaboration with a wide array of Finance and business leaders across various departments such as Sales & Operations Planning, Production Planning, Central Accounting, Internal Staffing Agency, Procurement, Human Resources, Safety, Quality, Reliability and Maintenance, and Technology. Additionally, the role requires partnership with research scientists, technical product managers, and software developers. A key responsibility is to design, develop, and maintain weekly and monthly business reviews, performance metrics, and reporting on strategic input drivers for Automated Sortable Network Directors and Regional leadership. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to influence business owners, support informed decision-making, and adapt to a dynamic environment. Regular interaction with executives and diverse business units across Amazon will provide opportunities to showcase strong verbal and written communication skills. A typical day involves improving and creating new measures for cost reduction initiatives, innovating solutions using large-scale data mining tools, identifying high-priority projects to maximize stakeholder results, and solving complex problems that impact company-wide strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
  • 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
  • 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Retail, and Strategy Teams to drive optimization, efficiency, and insights across the Make on Demand (MOD)/Merch network.
  • Oversee a vast network of fulfillment centers and coordinate initiatives spanning multiple organizations and stakeholders with high visibility to senior leadership.
  • Design, develop, and maintain performance measurements and reporting on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business.
  • Solve complex problems impacting company-wide strategic decision-making.
  • Lead through ambiguity and identify high-priority work/projects to maximize results for key stakeholders.
  • Design and implement new financial reporting/modeling.
  • Find creative solutions utilizing large-scale data mining tools.
  • Partner closely with a broad range of Senior Leaders in Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Accounting, HR, and Technology.
  • Make on Demand (MOD)/Merch team seeks a Finance leader to partner with the Operations, Supply Chain, Retail, and Strategy Teams, and to drive an agenda of optimization, efficiency, and insights across MOD/Merch.
