About The Position

The Truck Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations related to commercial truck sales, financing, and leasing, ensuring profitability, compliance, and alignment with dealership or company goals.

Requirements

  • Typically 2+ years in automotive or commercial truck finance, with a background in dealership finance or loan officer roles.
  • Proficiency in finance software, loan origination systems, and possibly RouteOne or similar platforms.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting abilities.
  • Ability to explain complex finance terms to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Understanding of credit underwriting, compliance, and insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage truck finance programs: Oversee the setup, operation, and optimization of finance and lease programs for commercial trucks, ensuring they meet sales targets and customer needs.
  • Work with sales teams: Provide finance and lease program information to sales staff and managers, enabling them to convert cash deals into financed transactions.
  • Process and approve deals: Structure and submit finance and lease applications to lender networks for approval, ensuring compliance with underwriting standards.
  • Financial analysis and reporting: Monitor cash flow, finance reserves, and product penetration; prepare reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Compliance and risk management: Ensure all finance activities comply with state/federal regulations, credit policies, and internal controls.
  • Budgeting and forecasting: Develop and manage budgets for finance operations, forecast revenue, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Customer service: Serve as a liaison between customers (often business owners) and finance/leasing departments, explaining terms and options.
  • Team leadership: Supervise or mentor finance staff, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
