About The Position

AWS Finance seeks a Finance Manager to support the fastest-growing EC2 GenAI businesses. This role is critical in not only addressing financial deliverables (Weekly Business Review, Monthly Financial Reviews, Operating Plans, pricing/discounts, etc.) but also driving the business to find efficiencies to grow profit. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively and manage multiple time sensitive deliverables across a matrixed organization. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
• 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
• 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience

Nice To Haves

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
• MBA, or CPA
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL
• 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
• 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
• 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
• 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Responsibilities

• Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations.
• Build financial models for new business concepts, make analytical judgments, and deliver data intensive analyses to drive meaningful change.
• Present financial summary and business insights to the business and finance leadership.
• Develop and standardize financial reporting packages.
• Drive continuous improvements in profitability, free cash flow, and operational efficiency.
