About The Position

The Global Finance Group drives financial strategies based on expert understanding of Lam's breakthrough technologies, the semiconductor market, and the global business environment. They manage our company's financials and relationships with our investor community to ensure we have the strong financial foundation to fuel innovation and growth. As Finance Manager, you will influence investment strategy for the CTO organization, support innovation outcomes, and serve as a trusted finance advisor to business and technical leaders. You will bring financial discipline, advanced analytics, and executive-ready insights to help guide portfolio decisions, resource allocation, and long-term value creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or business-related field with 12+ years of experience; or Master’s degree or equivalent certification (MBA, CPA, CFA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) with 8+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including: strategic business partnering with technical, business, and senior leaders; FP&A, value/ROI analysis, portfolio analytics, and executive-level decision support; and accounting responsibility.
  • Experience supporting R&D, engineering, or innovation-driven organizations.
  • Solid knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting standards.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated capability with advanced analytics, financial modeling, dashboarding, automation, and AI-enabled analysis tools.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or MBA.
  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment or a similar high technology industry.
  • Background in R&D portfolio management or innovation investment governance.
  • Experience leveraging advanced analytics or AI tools to support investment decisions.
  • Prior experience in investment banking, corporate development, corporate strategy, transaction advisory, or a similar deal-oriented finance role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic finance partner to CTO leadership by leading portfolio strategy, program economics, and long-term technology roadmap analysis.
  • Advise the CTO Controller and senior stakeholders with clear financial insights, investment recommendations, and data-driven perspectives.
  • Lead financial analysis and operational decision support for program leaders and CTO stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain advanced financial models, business cases, ROI analyses, scenario comparisons, and sensitivity analyses to inform portfolio and investment decisions.
  • Leverage advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to identify trends, quantify risks, improve forecast accuracy, and surface actionable insights.
  • Track investment performance across the program lifecycle, from concept through development, launch, and post-launch, and highlight key variances, risks, and value-creation opportunities.
  • Translate complex financial and analytical outputs into clear, executive-ready recommendations for program managers, finance leadership, and senior stakeholders.
  • Lead planning, roadmap updates, and capital reviews through high-quality data preparation, analysis, reporting, and decision support.
  • Lead financial planning and analysis for programs, including program budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis; headcount and resource modeling; and milestone-based funding and performance tracking.
  • Partner with program managers and senior leaders to identify cost, schedule, portfolio, and value risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and improve financial governance, metrics, dashboards, and analytics capabilities to support scalable decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
  • Support monthly close, accruals, reserves, and financial statements for the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards (US GAAP/IFRS as applicable), and internal controls (SOX).
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, analytical capabilities, and management reporting.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and value creation across the organization.
