About The Position

As part of the Commercial Finance team at Citizens, you’ll be in a great position to reach your potential with new professional challenges and opportunities to stretch yourself. In the role of Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the financial decision support for a major client segment within the Commercial Bank. In this role covering all areas of management reporting, planning and decision support analytics, you’ll develop solutions to complex business issues, collaborate with stakeholders across the Citizens franchise and work closely with executive leadership of the business. You will serve as a key trusted financial advisor for executive leadership by highlighting key financial trends and drivers and their impact on future financial results, support strategic decision making, and tell the financial story of a business at an executive level.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in a finance, accounting or business decision support role.
  • Solid Excel financial modeling skills.
  • Good understanding of macro-economic principles.
  • Strong executive partnership and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Essbase financial reporting platform highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Financial decision support to business line executives as part of monthly updates to earnings forecasts by modeling the anticipated net interest margin, fee income, operating expenses and credit provisions that align with anticipated interest rate and economic scenarios, new business pipelines and profitability objectives.
  • Measure and track the key drivers of changes in the commercial loan portfolio such as new originations, re-financings, changes to line utilization rates and prepayment speeds to inform monthly forecast updates for changes to the size and composition of the balance sheet.
  • Support capital rotation efforts to achieve the proper balance between liquidity, risk, pricing and returns. Identifying and tracking opportunities to optimize the balance sheet is an important component of this effort by maintaining financial profiles of new credit originations as well as client exits to measure progress.
  • Develop financial proforma views and key operating performance measures for business expansion initiatives and tracking of results vs. expectations.
  • Financial leadership of the annual budget and strategic planning processes, including the creation of financial presentations and documentation of key assumptions, reflecting the input of line of business management.
  • Maintain a strong control environment by completing the month-end financial close including the identification of financial issues, risks and opportunities and synchronizing the financial impacts in monthly forecasts.
