About The Position

Mandelbaum Barrett PC is seeking a Finance Manager to support the CFO and handle the day-to-day execution of the finance function, including reporting, budgeting, and ensuring key deliverables are completed on time. This is a high-impact, fully in-person, hands-on role, based in our Roseland office. The right candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment where priorities can shift and demands from attorneys are high. This role offers significant visibility and growth potential, with the opportunity to expand responsibilities and evolve into a more senior leadership position over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, FP&A, finance, or related role.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with high-expectation attorneys and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear, practical communicator.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SurePoint or similar financial management systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with document management systems such as NetDocuments (NetDocs) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own monthly internal financial and key metrics reporting and detailed analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reporting outputs.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor actuals vs. budget and explain variances.
  • Serve as the CFO’s point person for day-to-day finance execution and follow through.
  • Coordinate with practice areas and internal departments to manage project timelines, track key deliverables, and ensure execution.
  • Build and maintain financial models and internal reporting tools.
  • Prepare materials for partner and management meetings.
  • Support leadership decision-making through analysis and reporting.
  • Improve reporting structure, workflows, and efficiency.
  • Maintain consistent, organized reporting formats.
  • Partner with Accounting to align financial reporting with operational needs.
