About The Position

The Finance Manager will provide analytical support to the Office of Administrative and Finance, the Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs, and the Office of Faculty Affairs; and work independently and collaboratively with administrative and academic units on financial planning and analysis. The Finance Manager will oversee all aspects of data collection for faculty compensation, including summer salaries, guarantees, and funded research revenue streams. The Finance Manager will monitor the adjunct budget for Steinhardt, including H-Duties and other non-full-time personnel calculations related to teaching. Research, analyze, and create reports for annual and ad hoc topics. Provide financial analysis and support for monthly and annual budgets, as well as monthly faculty payroll. Liaise with the Director of Faculty Affairs in responding to various types of inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years relevant experience, including tracking, analyzing and reporting complex data, managing budgets and monitoring expenditures; serving as administrative liaison with other organizational offices at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with faculty and high level administrators, such as Deans, Chairs and/or Directors.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data

  • Demonstrated ability with UDW +, Box/Other File Sharing, Workday and Google Suite.
