About The Position

Provides organization financial analysis and support to Urban One Finance by providing oversight and accounting leadership to Reach Media account and finance department. Responsible for performing daily operations as it relates to various functions within the department including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, revenue operations and other related areas. Additional responsibilities include overseeing financial and event operations for Reach events – including cruises, as well as perform a variety of special project functions and other duties as assigned. The Finance Manager partners closely with operations, sales, and commercial teams to ensure alignment with company financial objectives and to drive informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance.
  • Minimum 5+ years progressive experience in finance- financial planning and analysis function.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage systems, processes and people in a complex organizational structure.
  • Strong attention to detail, financial analysis, multi-tasking and ability to present/communicate with senior management.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems with sound and accurate judgment.
  • Excellent, demonstrated, computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, Hyperion/ Infor and ADP payroll system.
  • Broad management level experience and participation in strategic and business planning, budget development and control, financial policy, accounting.
  • Management of basic administrative and accounting functions.
  • Understanding of broadcasting network financial functions and systems.
  • Aptitude requirements include exceptional communication, organizational, technology and leadership skills.
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Temperament requirements include the ability to perform a variety of tasks (multi-tasking) under pressure while meeting deadlines, often changing assignments on short notice, attention to details, working well with others and ability to make decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes including the financial month end close, reporting, planning/forecasting, and analytics activities.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support operational planning and business initiatives.
  • Leads the annual operating plan process as well as play a key role in the annual strategic planning process.
  • Provide financial management oversight and strategic planning pertaining to cruises and other company events.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, ongoing forecasts and other reporting as requested for company events.
  • Provide special analysis, including financial projections and modeling, and reporting for events as requested by senior management.
  • Develop and maintain accurate cabin/package manifest inventory for event booking for guests, artists and staff and coordinate/communicate room assignments with vendors, guests and/or cruise line(s).
  • Ensure registration process for events is working properly; cabin or room inventory is updated on website(s) and registrations are reconciled to vendor manifests.
  • Prepare event inventory reports as requested by senior management.
  • Manage event document fulfillment process for travelers/package purchasers/guests.
  • Participate in meetings with staff & vendors to ensure all details are finalized.
  • Supervise all details during either on-or-off-site during events including registration process; resolution of any guest issues or problems and maintaining inventory control.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide insights to improve cost control and profitability.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for leadership review.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather financial and operational data.
  • Reviews and monitors the organization's financial position and creates and distributes necessary reports on the organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
  • Participates in and drives the process improvement and standardization projects across related functions.
  • Leads deep dive analytics to support corrective action planning and strategic decision making.
  • Responsible for accurate office inventory and order fulfillment procedures.
  • Perform monthly bank account reconciliations and as needed for banking/treasury functions.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to manage audit schedule/requests.
  • Assist with various financial and administrative projects as otherwise assigned by executive management.
