The Finance Intern learns various accounting and finance duties, assists with the investigation of accounting and finance problems, and produces various accounting and finance reports in an exemplary manner according to the company quality policies. Requirements

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's program in Business, Finance, Accounting (or a related program)
  • Ability to drive projects to completion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability and desire to work in a team-based environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • An outstanding work record, including attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Completed coursework in finance and/or accounting
  • Previous experience working in finance in a manufacturing setting

Responsibilities

  • Work with the corporate finance team to maintain Profit & Loss (P&L) for Grand Rapids Plant, Specialty Products, and Corporate Finance.
  • Assist in data collection and financial analysis for corporate finance projects.
  • Create and present the financial impact of capital projects in the Grand Rapids plant.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (including Standard Work, Kaizan Events, and Lean Manufacturing) identifying and implementing process improvements throughout all aspects of the finance, accounting and production.
  • Perform any data analysis, as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to the Corporate Finance team.
  • Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area and 5S zone.
  • Prepare and deliver final presentation to the leadership team at the end of Internship with cost savings and recommendations.
  • Complete projects within agreed time period.
  • Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
  • Organize and maintain personal work area (based on audit score).
  • Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management.
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives.
  • Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including ISO, TS 16949 and safety regulations.
  • Accept instructions and duties in a positive manner.
