Finance Intern (1 year internship, 20 hrs. per week)
About The Position
The USA TODAY NETWORK is seeking talented college students for an enriching paid internship. Join a global digital media company with over 100 media properties nationwide. As an Internship Program participant, you will develop, integrate, and apply skill sets and experiences to support finance teams. The internship aims to provide opportunities for college students (undergraduate and graduate) to develop, grow, and become the next generation of talent for the Network. The enterprise programming offers mentoring, networking, and real-world experience in a fun, entrepreneurial atmosphere. Within the finance team, you will work on meaningful and impactful projects, engage in peer-to-peer activities, and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Degree-seeking students currently enrolled at a college or university.
- Finance or Accounting majors, Junior, Senior, or Graduate level preferred.
- Current GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and flexible.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and financial analysis skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Team player.
Responsibilities
- Work with accounting, financial analyst, and financial leadership teams to learn and sharpen basic and advanced finance skills, analysis, research, balancing, reporting, and communication.
- Learn to leverage tools for improving efficiency and accuracy during reviews.
- Work independently and collaboratively across teams to provide perspectives and insights for special projects identified by leadership as part of strategic growth initiatives.
- Develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Participate in team meetings to learn about how finance initiatives and projects take shape.
