About The Position

The Finance Intern will support JSX's Finance organization through financial analysis, reporting, operational improvement initiatives, and special projects that inform business decisions. The intern will gain exposure to corporate finance and the financial considerations of operating a growing airline, working with data to identify trends, evaluate opportunities, and communicate findings to business stakeholders. The role collaborates with Finance and operational leaders on projects connecting financial performance with day-to-day business activities and offers undergraduate students practical experience in finance, business analytics, or operations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial and operational data.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in corporate finance, business analytics, and the aviation industry.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and analytical techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Finance and cross-functional business teams.

• Academic coursework or project experience involving financial analysis, budgeting, business analytics, or data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with productivity and operational performance analysis to support business improvement initiatives.
• Gather, organize, and analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support financial reporting and variance analysis for key business areas.
• Help prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations communicating financial performance and business insights to leadership.
• Collaborate with Finance and operational teams to evaluate business performance and support data-driven decision-making.
• Assist with developing business cases by gathering supporting data, researching opportunities, and evaluating financial considerations.
• Conduct market research and business analysis to support financial planning and special projects.
• Help maintain accurate financial data, reporting materials, and supporting documentation.
• Participate in cross-functional discussions and projects to understand how financial insights influence business strategy and operations.
• Support ad hoc financial analyses, research assignments, and other projects as business needs arise.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned; duties may change in response to circumstances or business needs.
