About The Position

Travelzoo has an opening for a Finance Director in New York. This role involves assisting with quarterly closings, financial statement consolidations, and generating accurate financial reports and analysis. The Finance Director will collaborate closely with the Finance, Legal, and external audit teams, providing necessary documentation and addressing financial inquiries. Responsibilities also include monitoring tax filing timelines and requirements, preparing tax deliverables, ensuring SOX compliance and internal controls, and managing compliance and tax risks. The role requires analysis of financial statements and budget variances, and assistance with SEC filings.

Requirements

Degree educated professional with 10+ years experience in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional experience at a publicly traded U.S. based company required
Familiar with major accounting system applications and databases (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
Highly proficient in Workiva, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
A high performer with strong work ethic and sound judgement
An excellent communicator with strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

Assist with quarterly closings, financial statement consolidations and generate accurate and reliable financial reports and analysis
Work closely with the Finance team, Legal team and external auditors, provide documentation requested and answer all project-specific financial questions
Monitor tax filing timing and requirements and preparing tax deliverables to external tax partners as well as other tax compliance filings
Ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls, manage compliance and tax risks
Analysis of financial statements and variances to budget
Assist with SEC filings
