About The Position

Benton REA invites applicants to apply for a full-time Finance Director role. The position will be permanently based out of our brand-new West Richland office. The Finance Director performs complex executive work planning, organizing and directing the activities and personnel of the Finance Department, including accounting budget, debt management, financial reporting, treasury management, accounts receivable and accounts payable, customer service and related work as apparent or assigned. Work involves setting policies and goals under the direction of the Vice President of Energy and Finance. Departmental supervision is exercised over assigned personnel. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance and applicable regulations and accounting standards, effective internal controls and sound management of programs, investments, grands and operational funds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Six (6) years of accounting experience, preferably in a utility.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience that allows the incumbent to successfully perform the essential job functions.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Experience with annual organization-wide budget processes.
  • RUS and FERC accounting practices and principles.
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Strong team player.
  • Forward thinking, with a drive towards process improvement, efficiency, excellence.
