About The Position

Kainaiwa Children’s Services Corporation is a growing, dynamic First Nation organization providing programs and services to Blood Tribe children and families in need of support and protection. The Finance Clerk is responsible for entering financial data into the accounting system and providing support to Staff Accountant(s) and the Finance Team for all types of payments, deposits, billing, and financial reporting.

Requirements

Diploma in Business Administration or a related field, with related experience.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Working knowledge of ACCPAC Plus.
Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial recordkeeping.
Proficiency in data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to prepare and maintain financial records, including bank reconciliations and general ledger entries.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Blackfoot language and culture is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Enter purchase orders, cheque requisitions, and invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Prepare weekly cheque runs.
Perform bookkeeping functions, including bank reconciliations, budget entry, and general ledger journal entries.
Prepare financial reports and complete a variety of data entry and bookkeeping tasks.
Provide support with payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions, as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Finance Supervisor, Finance Manager, or Director.
