About The Position

ABB Finance Business Partner is a full-time position located in Corporate - Saint Louis, MO. AB Mauri is a global leader in yeast and bakery ingredient production with a heritage of over 150 years. The company operates 52 plants in 32 countries with 8,200 employees. AB Biotek, a division of AB Mauri, focuses on yeast technologies, fermentable technologies, and non-fermentation products for various markets. This role is within AB Biotek, specifically supporting a recent acquisition and serving as the lead for the North America region. The position offers a unique opportunity to develop finance business partnering skills by collaborating with senior Finance, Commercial, and Business Unit leaders. Success in this role can lead to future career development within AB Mauri or the wider ABF Group. The role involves ensuring Business Unit General Managers (BUGMs) have accurate and current knowledge of business performance and issues, developing insights into business performance, opportunities, and challenges, and condensing, summarizing, and prioritizing information. The Finance Business Partner will deliver high-quality financial reports, insights, and recommendations to support business decision-making and performance management, while continuously improving the quality of financial analysis and seeking opportunities for automation and systemization. The role also emphasizes a duty of care for employee health, safety, and wellbeing, environmental responsibility, and supporting community engagement.

Requirements

  • An accounting qualification.
  • At least 8 years of post-qualification finance experience.
  • Experience in business performance management including reporting and forecasting.
  • Track record of providing analysis and insight to support business decision-making.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Strong modelling skills (MS Excel).
  • Experience with reporting tools (e.g., Cognos).
  • Experience with databases.
  • Experience with communication tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
  • Experience with presentation tools (MS PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure BUGMs have appropriate, current, and accurate knowledge of business performance and issues.
  • Support a key distinct EUM within ABB, including a recent acquisition and leading ABB in the North America region.
  • Develop insights into business performance issues and opportunities for supported EUMs.
  • Condense, summarize, and prioritize information.
  • Provide high-quality finance reports, insight, and recommendations to support business decision-making and performance management.
  • Develop and continually raise the bar in terms of the quality of financial analysis provided.
  • Improve efficiency and control over services provided, identifying and implementing opportunities to automate/systemize.
  • Monitor, understand, and challenge ABB plans and initiatives through Business Project Management trackers.
  • Prepare, review, challenge, and facilitate the pricing request process prior to final authorization by BUGM/FD.
  • Act as a liaison for key ABB projects centric to the regional strategy (CAPEX, expansion, development, and innovation), providing ongoing support for all key projects in the region.
  • Act as the finance contact for the Global Technology Centre, monitoring operating costs, and leading the development of business cases and project governance relating to CAPEX projects, including preparation of presentations to management.
