As a Finance Business Partner (FBP) for the Patient Support Programs Business Unit (PSP BU), you will play a critical role in the PSP BU’s performance management, financial reporting, planning, and forecasting. For RFPs and potential new programs, the FBP will contribute to business growth by supporting the financial analyses, pricing, and resource modelling used to inform decision making and program design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • CPA or CFA designation required.
  • 3-5 years of corporate FP&A/FBP experience.
  • A minimum of three years of Canadian work experience.
  • Experience with end budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-range planning.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with attention to detail and a zeal for continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working with assumptions and dealing with uncertainty.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative thinking paired with Excel modeling skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to build outstanding relationships based on trust and deliver on commitments.
  • Comfortable operating in a highly visible role with regular, direct interaction with the Sentrex CEO and senior leadership.
  • Mature and well-balanced, with the resilience and composure to perform well under pressure.
  • Skilled at building consensus and remaining persuasive, professional, and collaborative during negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Review, publish, and explain monthly results, analyzing variances and providing driver-level commentary, including identifying and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) against targets.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for existing programs, encompassing service revenues, resource models, drug revenues, other direct costs, and passthrough revenue and costs, for forecasting and strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct thorough variance analysis to understand deviations from budget or forecast and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor and control costs associated with existing programs, working with program managers to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive performance reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics, trends, and insights.
  • Assist PSP teams with initiatives such as billing methodology changes, hiring decisions, copay reserve calculations, and pricing, providing financial expertise.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, implementing best practices and leveraging technology.
  • Build multiyear financial models with various assumptions to support decision-making for new PSP programs, accounting for different pricing scenarios.
  • Own and maintain the standard pricing list, making periodic updates based on competitive information, cost changes, and process improvements.
  • Capture and validate all assumptions used in financial models and pricing strategies with actuals for proxy molecules.
  • Develop resource models to provide monthly hiring plans based on manufacturer expectations and patient enrollment numbers.
  • Simulate costs and revenues under various pricing models (Fee per Patient, Fees for Service, Cost-Plus) and analyze financial implications.
  • Make informed recommendations on reinvestment into programs based on expected overall program contribution and optimize pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the PSP Business Development team to fill in templates and provide financial information for Request for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Be a key contributor in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for each PSP program in close collaboration with the PSP leadership.
