About The Position

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a Finance Business Analyst to support and optimize Workday Financials, Payroll, Time Tracking, and the Workday Financial Data Model (FDM). The role supports the Manager of Financial Systems and Finance Business Analyst II with system administration and maintenance, reporting, data analysis, testing, issue resolution, documentation, and end-user training. The analyst works with Financial Services, Payroll, Human Resources, Information Services, and operational departments to support system functionality, data integrity, and efficient business processes. Under senior team members’ guidance, the analyst contributes to enhancements, releases, projects, and system optimization initiatives. The position is remote.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in finance systems, payroll systems, business analysis, reporting, accounting, finance, HRIS, or related business support functions.
Understanding of finance, accounting, payroll, and business processes.
Basic understanding of Workday Financial Data Model concepts, including organizations, worktags, hierarchies, and reporting structures.
Working knowledge of Finance, Payroll, and Time Tracking business processes and ability to provide functional support for Workday applications.
Ability to learn new technologies and support evolving business requirements.
Ability to analyze business requirements and identify system-based solutions.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and organize time to meet target dates.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with system users, leadership, and vendors.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, information systems, or a related field.
Experience with Workday reporting, Power BI, SQL, Tableau, Excel Power Query, or similar reporting tools.
Experience with Workday Financials, Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, or other cloud-based ERP systems.
Experience supporting financial reporting, payroll processing, or financial master data structures.
Experience with GL, AP, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, or Inventory systems.
Experience participating in software testing, upgrades, or system implementation projects.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day administration and functional maintenance of Workday Financials, Payroll, Time Tracking, and related applications.
Help users troubleshoot Workday issues through research, testing, and incident resolution; monitor support requests and escalate complex issues when appropriate.
Partner with Financial Services, Payroll, HR, and Information Services to identify process improvements and support approved solutions.
Support maintenance of the Workday Financial Data Model, including worktags, hierarchies, organizations, and reference data; assist with validation and data governance reviews.
Support releases, enhancements, and projects by documenting requirements, preparing and executing test scripts, coordinating user acceptance testing, and validating releases.
Provide end-user training and ongoing support for Workday functionality and reporting tools.
Document business processes, procedures, system configurations, and support and training materials.
Create and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and data extracts for Payroll/Time, Financial Services, and operational departments.
Assist with audit requests, regulatory reporting, and periodic system reconciliations.
Support month-end, quarter-end, year-end, payroll processing, and other operational activities requiring Workday support.
Assist with Workday security testing and validation, data conversion, integration testing, and release validation.
Perform data analysis and validation using Workday reporting tools, Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar tools.
Help prepare project documentation, status reports, issue tracking, and other administrative materials related to Workday initiatives.
