About the position
Superblocks is seeking a Finance and Business Operations Lead to report to the Co-Founder & CEO. The ideal candidate will be a financial expert with experience in strategic finance, highly analytical, and experienced with spreadsheet modeling. They will be responsible for owning budgets and business financial models, managing business operations, and analyzing data on customers to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. The Finance and Business Operations Lead will work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to drive growth and improve customer retention.
Responsibilities
- Own budgets and business financial models and forecasts reported to the board
- Work alongside an external accounting team to prepare monthly financials
- Negotiate deals with infrastructure providers and SaaS vendors to drive costs down
- Manage office lease or future office lease
- Review legal documents with lawyers
- Build new processes around sales, marketing, engineering, IT, and other departments to streamline operations
- Create comp bands, comp planning in sales, handle terminations/severance/exit interviews, and understand policies across the board with JustWorks, Deel, and other HR tools
- Analyze data on customers, including net expansion and churn rates, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to drive growth and improve customer retention
Requirements

- Highly analytical and like to solve problems using data
- Highly experienced with spreadsheet modeling (bonus if extensive SQL experience)
- A truly organized project management and clear communicator
- Expert in forecasting models and able to interpret financial data and allocate budgets
- Excited about working at an early stage company
