About The Position

PDT Partners is seeking an analytical, curious, and tenacious Finance Associate to join its Finance, Accounting, and Treasury (FACT) team. The role offers the opportunity to modernize operations across treasury, finance, tax, and reporting by understanding the reasons behind existing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, implementing efficiency gains, and using data to improve decision-making.

The Finance Associate will cross-train across FACT responsibilities and develop expertise in multiple domains. The role collaborates with operational and technical teams across the company, contributes to daily operations, and works with other groups at PDT on implementing trading strategies. It is a core member of the FACT team, supporting business operations and building infrastructure for the firm’s growth.

This is a hybrid position requiring work from PDT’s New York City office at least three days per week.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional experience in finance, treasury, data science, management information systems, accounting and tax, or related fields.
• Basic programming skills or experience with AI-assisted tools to automate and streamline workflows.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn about the business and understand the reasons behind processes.
• Diligence and demonstrated ability to deliver meticulous, thorough, high-quality work.
• Tenacity and enthusiasm for taking on new challenges and getting the job done.

Responsibilities

• Develop broad expertise by rotating across treasury, finance, fund reporting, and tax compliance.
• Support day-to-day FACT operations, including cash management, margin analysis, tax estimates, compliance reporting, and counterparty management.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and implement solutions in collaboration with internal operations development teams, leveraging data systems and AI tools.
• Liaise with external service providers, such as prime brokers and accounting firms.
• Lead or contribute to special projects and ad hoc analyses within the FACT team and across the firm.
• Collaborate with operational and technical teams and other groups across PDT.
