About The Position
We’re looking for a motivated Finance Associate to join the dynamic team in our Somerville office. You will play a critical role in managing and optimizing financial processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial workflows, support strategic decision-making, and maintain the highest standards of financial integrity.
Requirements
- 1 – 3 years experience as a staff accountant or similar role
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance and other accounting theory and three statement financial modeling
- Knowledge of research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations
- Ability to describe accounting systems and processes in written and verbal correspondence
- Strong knowledge of and experience with international tax processes
- Mastery of Microsoft Office; accounting software including NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Expensify and Bill.com; and budgeting software such as Grow, Domo, and Spotlight
- Ability to navigate a dynamic startup environment, adapt to evolving priorities, and take ownership in building structure and establishing foundational accounting processes
Nice To Haves
- Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage and support client invoicing and billing workflows
- Track customer payments, outstanding invoices, and billing records
- Review and reconcile financial transactions across banking, accounting, payroll, and expense systems
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable operations
- Help ensure billing accuracy and investigate discrepancies or missing records
- Organize and maintain clean financial documentation and operational records
- Assist with monthly close processes and reporting preparation
- Categorize expenses and maintain structured financial data across departments
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve finance and billing-related questions
- Help improve financial processes, reporting consistency, and operational workflows as the company scales
