About The Position

The role holder is expected to support the effective and accurate delivery of financial operations for the Lebanon Country Office by processing payments, managing petty cash and advances, supporting banking activities, maintaining complete and accurate financial records and documentation, and ensuring compliance with Save the Children International (SCI) financial policies and procedures. The role also supports financial reconciliations, audit requirements, and the timely follow-up of financial documentation. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside of the normal role profile and may be expected to vary working hours accordingly. The responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have limited contact with or access to children or young people.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field
  • Very good written and spoken English and Arabic languages and communication skills.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Able to work within a team.
  • Organized with good time management, and respect deadlines.
  • Trustworthy
  • Analytical skills and accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with donors’ requirements and NGOs is an asset
  • Availability for internal travel.

Responsibilities

  • Process beneficiary and supplier payments for the Country Office and Area Offices in accordance with SCI procedures and approved supporting documentation.
  • Process and follow up on NSSF and income tax payments, ensuring timely completion and proper supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and process journal entries and other financial adjustments as required.
  • Manage USD and LBP petty cash transactions and ensure accurate recording and proper supporting documentation.
  • Request and process petty cash replenishments for the Country Office and field offices.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and well-organized financial records and documentation, ensuring proper filing, accessibility, confidentiality and compliance with SCI records retention requirements.
  • Act as the Finance Department’s focal point for banking matters, including liaison with banks, follow-up on banking transactions and payments, and maintenance of relevant banking documentation.
  • Review and reconcile suppliers’ statements of account and follow up on outstanding items or discrepancies.
  • Handle travel and staff Program advances.
  • Follow up on missing signatures, supporting documentation and other outstanding financial requirements to ensure completeness of financial records.
  • Support internal and external audits by retrieving supporting documentation and responding to finance-related information requests as required.
  • Undertake other reasonable finance-related duties as assigned by the Finance Coordinator or Finance management.
  • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child safeguarding, anti-harassment, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
