About The Position

Heron Data is seeking an early-career individual to join their team as a Finance and Operations Coordinator. This role is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how a company operates, sitting at the center of finance, people, and office operations. The coordinator will own systems, vendors, and daily processes to ensure smooth operations and enable team members to perform effectively. This position is ideal for someone looking to build judgment quickly and pursue a career in finance, operations, or people management.

Requirements

Graduating soon or recently graduated (any major, but some finance / business acumen preferred).
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
Comfortable with numbers and quick to learn new software.
Proactive and able to identify and propose solutions.
Detail-oriented, especially concerning financial, people, and compliance matters.
Willingness to be in the office with the team in New York.
No prior finance or operations experience required; willingness to learn is key.

Nice To Haves

Some finance or business acumen is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable and receivable, corporate cards, and repayment plans.
Maintain the AR tracker and ensure correct coding of spending across US and UK books.
Oversee the end-to-end onboarding process for new joiners, including accounts, equipment, background checks, and first-week experience.
Administer health, pension, and family benefits across both countries, ensuring accuracy.
Support immigration and compliance processes, including visa procedures and maintaining clean paperwork.
Maintain and update tools and trackers.
Set up new customer accounts in billing and data systems.
Build small automations to save time across the organization.
