Finance and Accounting Manager Energy
About The Position
We are seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager Energy to join our Team in our Oak Ridge, TN office. Your role interfaces with senior management to ensure that corporate financial goals are reflected in divisional budgets and forecasts. You will facilitate analytical analysis of business financial performance. You will prepare, record, analyze and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. You will provide financial support including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. You will interact with operational management, Accounting Department management and the Business Development organization to ensure that business objectives are translated into financial goals and objectives. You will assist with preparation of the annual operating budgets and forecasts. You will provide cost/benefit analysis and discounted cash flow models to decision makers. You will provide analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual results as compared to budgets and forecasts. You will prepare, examine or analyze accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. You will ensure appropriate revenue recognition for IRFS15 purposes. You will perform general ledger accounting functions and review general ledger account reconciliations. You will support external and internal audits and due diligence requirements. You will participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings. You will assist with preparation of internal management reporting and other ad hoc reporting requests. You will supervise staff as needed and follow organizational policies and procedures and ensure staff is in compliance. You will perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 7 years of Finance and/or Accounting experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detailed knowledge of revenue recognition, budgeting and forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency using Excel, including creating pivot tables and other data manipulation techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Detailed knowledge of general ledger functions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Detailed knowledge of technical accounting issues.
- Detailed knowledge of accounting systems.
- Strong people-management skills.
- Ability to perform extremely complex accounting tasks.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable processing fundamentals.
- Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Management Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Deltek Costpoint or Oracle experience.
- Database experience.
- Working for a large company.
