The Finance Analyst II position is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week on-site at the Mayo Clinic-Rochester campus, with the expectation that the employee is located within 100 miles of the campus. The analyst will assure the integrity of financial and statistical data through various tasks such as preparing/reviewing general ledger entries, reports, schedules, worksheets, reconciliations, and other analyses. They will work within a team environment, supporting finance analysts and leadership, and will actively communicate and present information to diverse audiences. The role involves using reporting tools to develop complex management financial information, potentially becoming an expert or primary owner of a technical process. The analyst will interpret and apply Mayo and governmental finance and accounting policies, proactively identify and communicate problems and opportunities, and participate in implementing solutions or process improvements. Additionally, they will assist in developing variable-sensitive business models and/or compliance or fiscal management tools, and provide analytical, financial, accounting, and compliance support to department and institutional leadership. Mentoring, coaching, and training staff are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of 3 years applicable experience in accounting or finance.
  • Other business-related bachelor's degrees require a minimum of 5 years of applicable accounting or finance experience.
  • A master degree in accounting or finance, a MBA, MHA, CPA (active or inactive), CMA or CIA can be substituted for one year experience.
  • Highly developed understanding of accounting and finance practices.
  • Highly developed knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Highly developed investigational skills, shows attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Solid customer-service skills; understands and addresses customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and develop constructive working relationships with others.
  • Demonstrable communication and basic presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
