About The Position

This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of any of the Mayo Clinic campuses for on-site expectations based on business needs. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Analyst II to join our Tax team. In this intermediate role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of tax-related data used for institutional reporting and compliance purposes. Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing tax analyses, schedules, and reconciliations, as well as helping to maintain efficient processes that minimize manual work. Using advanced reporting tools and your strong analytical skills, you will develop and explain financial and tax information for diverse audiences, proactively identifying and escalating issues related to data trends, variances, or quality concerns. As a Tax Analyst II, you will interpret and apply relevant tax regulations, internal policies, and compliance requirements, collaborating with colleagues in Finance, Analytics Operations, and other departments to address questions and drive process improvements. You will also support team success by sharing expertise, ensuring thorough documentation and controls, and demonstrating commitment to sound judgment, practical problem-solving, and accuracy. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
  • If degree is in Accounting or Finance, minimum of 3 years applicable experience in accounting or finance is required.
  • Other business-related bachelor's degrees require a minimum of 5 years of applicable accounting or finance experience.
  • Has a highly developed understanding of accounting and finance practices.
  • Has a highly developed knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Highly developed investigational skills, shows attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Solid customer-service skills; understands and addresses customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and develop constructive working relationships with others.
  • Demonstrable communication and basic presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • A master's degree in accounting or finance, a MBA, MHA, CPA (active or inactive), CMA or CIA can be substituted for 1 year experience.
  • Prefer knowledge of large accounting and/or grant management systems.
