About The Position

The Final Assembler is responsible for the final assembly and verification of trolleys and equipment for the airline catering. Each group of trolleys is assembled according to the type and size of the aircraft for which they are being used. A Final Assembler may assemble up to 100 flights per shift working either as a team. The duties of the Final Assembler include checking flight bills to determine what items are required for each flight. The trolley has a height of 36 inches, which may require the worker to bend slightly to verify the bottom shelves. This activity is done intermittently throughout the day and the bending is not required for any prolonged periods of time. Trolleys are brought over to the assembly area by the make & pack department, some will be provided by the pick& pack department and other equipment by the galley department. The assembler stages the trolleys according to flight number. Headsets, hampers and satchels are added, as requested, to the trolleys to complete the flight.
