About The Position

TAT Technologies is seeking a Fin Machine Operator for its Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) operations. This role is responsible for operating machinery to produce daily customer orders on designated product lines. The position is for the 2nd shift, working 4x10 hour days, typically from 3pm to 1:30am, with potential for overtime and weekend work as business needs require. TAT Technologies is a global partner to leading players in the aerospace industry, specializing in innovative thermal management, power, and actuation products and repair services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Ability to read blueprints and manuals
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Must be able to perform physical requirements: physical stamina to stand for 8 hours or more and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Critical “Cause and Effect” analytical abilities. (i.e., If I do this, that will happen)
  • Working knowledge of shop safety protocols
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have the ability to pass pre-hire and ongoing, random drug testing as required as a Department of Transportation (DOT) facility regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
  • Must have the ability to pass pre-hire background check screening going back 7 years

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree is a plus
  • Experience with Robinson and/or Voss fin machines preferred
  • Knowledge of GD&T preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform the operation of machines on designated product lines according to the production schedule
  • Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift
  • Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of problems during machine operation
  • Ensure all safety devices and guards are fully operational and that safety procedures are being observed
  • Ensure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output
  • Create and maintain activity/job logs as required
  • Record all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required
  • Meet specified production performance targets
  • Participate in production process improvement efforts
  • Additional job duties as needed and assigned
