Student: Film & Media Technical Assistant, 2026-27
About The Position
In this hands-on role, you will assist in the management, maintenance, and use of film and new media equipment. This position serves the film program, the new media program, and the graphic design program. You will respond to the needs of faculty and students in all programs and follow a consistent protocol for equipment use. Responsibilities include checking out and checking in of film, new media, and design equipment, ensuring proper use and care of the equipment during class and out of class (as requested), monitoring the editing suites, providing technical assistance to those using the equipment when possible, and working on special projects.
Requirements
- Enrolled as a student at Augsburg University
- Work-study eligible
- Working knowledge of film cameras, video cameras, DSLR cameras, audio equipment, lighting gear, computers, and the Premiere Pro software package
- Highly responsible, detail driven, and self-motivated
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to follow established protocol
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently
