About The Position

The Filling Operator operates and maintains Krones can filling machines in a beverage manufacturing plant to ensure efficient, accurate filling of cans with liquid products. The role includes machine setup, monitoring filling and packaging processes, quality checks, troubleshooting, routine cleaning and maintenance, and maintaining production and maintenance records. The rotating schedule is 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, four days on and four days off.

The operator is responsible for raising actual or potential food safety issues to management and is empowered to resolve issues within the scope of the role. If the position is vacant for a significant period, food safety and quality tasks become the responsibility of the direct manager or a qualified designee.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality standards.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions, and decimals.
• High school diploma or GED, or one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience operating Krones can filling machines or similar packaging machinery.
• Ability to perform the listed physical demands, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Set up Krones can filling machines for production runs, configuring can size, filling volume, and product type.
• Ensure the machine is clean and sanitized before production.
• Monitor the machine during production and load cans into it.
• Oversee filling, sealing, and labeling processes and adjust the machine as needed to maintain consistent product quality.
• Conduct quality checks, including visual inspections, fill-level measurements, and checks for proper sealing.
• Identify and resolve machine malfunctions or issues; make minor adjustments, perform basic maintenance, or contact maintenance personnel for more complex repairs.
• Perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and preventative maintenance on the can filling machine.
• Maintain production and maintenance records, documenting production quantities, machine settings, quality checks, and maintenance activities.
• Notify management about actual or potential food safety issues and resolve issues within the scope of the role.
