Requirements

  • Seafood processing experience required.
  • Product and industry knowledge- fish and seafood handling preferred.
  • Knife experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a basic understanding of the English language, including the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Able to work with seafood, including various types of fish and shellfish.
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the work shift.
  • Must follow all directions and adhere to work rules.
  • Must be willing and able to work with other departments in a team atmosphere.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • 2-3 years of cutting/filleter experience required.
  • Experience – 2-3 years of experience use of fillet knives, food processing equipment and food safety in a fast-paced environment.
  • A demonstrated sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines.
  • Basic English speaking and written proficiency.
  • Willingness to work in a cold climate of 35º.

Nice To Haves

  • Seafood experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sorting, butchering, cleaning, weighing, and boxing various seafood products.
  • Promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
