About The Position

This is a night shift position with hours from 6 PM to 6 AM. The Filler Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production equipment, specifically Purity filling equipment. This role requires strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), collection of product samples for quality testing, and maintaining aseptic controls. The operator will set up and use appropriate materials for production runs, validate product codes, and identify/communicate any out-of-specification product conditions. Responsibilities also include performing equipment adjustments, operating a lift truck, completing production records, performing equipment change-overs, CIP/SIP, clean-up, and set-up. Additionally, the role involves environmental controls, product reclaim/rework operations, supporting audits, following safety and GMP guidelines, cross-training, and maintaining good housekeeping. Compliance with dairy food regulations and adherence to the Saputo Code of Ethics and Company Values are also essential. The role requires working collaboratively with coworkers and management, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • A working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP,5S, GMP, etc.).
  • Lift truck certification or the ability to obtain a lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Truck).
  • Strong math skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, software and data entry, SAP a plus.
  • Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
  • Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work history.
  • Good attendance is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of production equipment to include: Purity filling equipment.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.
  • Collect routine product samples and perform routine testing to inspect the cup and seal for leaks, defects to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Follow all established aseptic controls and procedures.
  • Set-up and use the appropriate portion control cup and seal materials in accordance with the production run schedule.
  • Set-up coders, validate product codes in accordance with code specifications.
  • Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions.
  • Follow the established notification protocol.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments per product type.
  • Safe operation of a lift truck.
  • Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
  • Perform equipment change-overs, CIP/SIP, clean-up and equipment set-up.
  • Perform environmental controls.
  • Perform product reclaim and rework operations in accordance with reclaim guidelines.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Follow all established GMP’s and Food Safety requirements.
  • Cross-train with other departments.
  • Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
  • Comply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.
  • Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, actively apply the Saputo Company Values.
  • Work together with co-workers and other department personnel.
  • Other duties as required by management.
