About The Position

The Filler Operator is responsible for operating and cleaning filling machines, minimizing machinery downtime, and monitoring product quality. This role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety policies. The operator will also perform quality assurance tests, manage packaging and ingredient orders, and maintain communication with various departments. A high level of professionalism and a strong attendance record are essential.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent are needed.
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules with changing start times when needed.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Must have a good attendance record.
  • Solid understanding of GMP, and state/ federal regulations and practices.
  • The ability to work well with others.
  • Stand, walk, kneel and bend - this position will require standing/walking for Virtually the entire shift.
  • Lift, carry, push and pull - these activities are done in all aspects of this job with lifting weight limits up to 50 pounds.
  • Good manual dexterity is required.
  • Some work on ladders is required.
  • Good communication skills are required to deal effectively with co-workers.
  • Must be safety conscious.
  • Team player.
  • Must be flexible to changes.
  • Decision-maker and performance oriented.
  • Problem solving.
  • Must work within strict operating standards to meet Prairie Farms, state and federal guidelines.
  • Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with the operational aspects of all filling machines and cleaning those machines.
  • Be efficient in minimizing down time of machinery.
  • Follow established practices for the cleaning of the work area.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure problems are caught early.
  • Maintain communication with co-workers to co-ordinate run schedules.
  • Complete all duties in a manner that is consistent with all aspects of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Understand and perform all the established quality assurance tests utilized in the lab.
  • Order and receive packaging and ingredients.
  • Maintain open communications with Utility People, Receiving, Processing, Filling and Blow Mold operators.
  • Complete all duties in a manner that is consistent with all aspects of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), State and Federal regulations and company/plant safety policies.
  • Display a high level of professionalism.
  • Other duties as assigned.
