About The Position

The Fileroom Clerk is responsible for the management and maintenance of employee personnel files. This role involves performing maintenance of the personnel file room, ensuring accurate storage and alphabetization of records, and maintaining logs of employee records and file movements. The position also includes filing documents, making copies, archiving inactive files, and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information. Special projects may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
  • One year of satisfactory clerical experience.
  • Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance of the personnel file room and the storage of personnel records.
  • Ensure personnel files are alphabetized and perform review of the accuracy of filed records.
  • Maintain a log of employee records and related data entry.
  • Requisition of employee files and maintain log of files removed from the file room or archives.
  • Filing of documents and make copies upon request.
  • Archival of inactive files work on coordination with the Facilities Unit on the transfer of the records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
