About The Position

The FIFA Payroll Liaison serves as the primary point of contact between Operations and Union Payroll for all matters related to FIFA event staffing. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of union payroll, supporting the crew credentialing process, and maintaining organized records for FIFA union employees throughout the onboarding lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in payroll, HR administration, or event operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with union payroll processes and collective bargaining agreements is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with payroll software a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during FIFA event periods.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between Operations and Union Payroll departments for all FIFA-related staffing matters.
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication between both departments to ensure alignment on scheduling, hours worked, and payroll deadlines.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between operational records and payroll data in a prompt and accurate manner.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for payroll-related questions from crew members and field supervisors.
  • Track and manage the onboarding process for all FIFA union employees, ensuring completion of required documentation and compliance with union agreements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date onboarding records for each employee, including I-9 verification, union enrollment, and direct deposit setup.
  • Coordinate with HR and Operations to ensure all new employees are properly set up in payroll systems prior to their first shift.
  • Monitor onboarding progress and proactively follow up on any outstanding items to prevent payroll delays.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of the FIFA union crew credentialing process, ensuring all crew members obtain the required access credentials prior to event deployment.
  • Liaise with FIFA credentialing authorities and internal stakeholders to submit documentation accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Maintain a credential tracking log and provide status updates to Operations and relevant team leads.
  • Resolve credential issues or delays by working closely with the appropriate contacts at FIFA and within the organization.
  • Assist with the tracking and reconciliation of payroll costs associated with FIFA union labor, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
  • Compile and maintain payroll cost reports for management review on a regular basis.
  • Flag variances or anomalies in payroll costs and coordinate with the appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Support the preparation of payroll cost summaries and financial reporting as needed for FIFA event closeouts.
  • Support management with special projects as assigned, which may include process improvement initiatives, system implementations, or event-specific operational needs.
