We have an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference to our veterans! We are seeking someone with familiarity to the veteran affairs (VA) system and enjoys building relationships with others for the greater good, to join our Field Marketing team as a Field VA Outreach Specialist. This role reports to our Director of Field Strategy & Growth and will spend 4 days in the field visiting hospitals each day and looking for those who can benefit from our VA programs, as well as one day a week working remote. This unique role will bridge the gap between VA hospitals in the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Long Island & Rockland County, and our home care agencies, providing care to veterans needing assistance with daily living. The right candidate will also grow relationships with various offices and agencies to drive a higher enrollment of VA services. The ideal candidate will be high energy, comfortable building relationship on all levels and networking with an empathic style and compassionate approach. MUST HAVE A CAR AND A VALID DRIVERS LICENCE.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with the VA System in any capacity, or experience as a home care marketer or representative working with VA accounts, preferred
  • Must possess previous experience in roles where networking skills and relationship management is required
  • Must have a car and a valid NY driver’s license
  • Professional writing and communication skills at all levels required; must be strongly proficient in English
  • Knowledge/familiarity of VA process/structures, regulations, required. For an example an VA volunteer aware of the system would be a good candidate.

Nice To Haves

  • An understanding of geriatrics and in-home care services a plus.

Responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for acting as a liaison between our home care agencies within the VA system and building relationships and driving referrals with the goal to help veterans avoid nursing home care and remain in their homes.
  • Targeted Programs: Primary focus on promoting VA-contracted services such as homemaker/home health aides, skilled nursing, and respite care.
  • Networking & Referral Generation: Building relationships with VA social workers, discharge planners at VA hospitals, and community-based organizations to receive client referrals.
  • Educational Outreach: Informing veterans and their caregivers about available benefits and supporting them through the application process.
